Young KAGIDER Days – Yıldız Teknik University

An event of Young KAGIDER Days took place on April 18that the Yıldız Teknik University with the participation of 80 students.

Yıldız Teknik University Director Dr. İsmail Yüksek gave the opening speech, stating that countries that are aware of the importance of women employment help to create new opportunities and jobs.

Following Dr. İsmail’s speech, JP Morgan’s Head of the Board of Directors, Belma Özmen, described the company’s corporate social responsibility projects that aim to improve JP Morgan’s education programs and support women entrepreneurs.

After showing Young KAGIDER’s awareness film targeting young people,Münteha Adalı,member of the KAGIDER board described Young KAGIDER’s activities and goals.

The founder of Trendyol, Demet Mutluthen explained that in order to be successful, the individual must first find happiness.. Answering the participants’ questions, she also said the following: “In starting a business, coming up with the idea is the easiest part. The rest of the process is very hard: marketing, financing, becoming an administrator, finding investors, being a good leader, choosing a team, training and educating your team as well as gaining experience, are very important. Having a supportive team and partner is also a must.” She added that success is related to both business and social life.

Didem Güney Alsoy also shared her experiences with the participants: “My interest in entrepreneurship started when I was still in boarding school. I started working when I was 16 years old. My family never provided me with support. The only thing you can really choose in life is your partner. Not only is there a successful woman behind every man, but there is also a successful man behind every woman.”

Emine Tuğba Jabban, member of the board of trustees of the Community Volunteers Foundation explained how “Being a social entrepreneur requires sensitivity, passion and belief in yourself. Do something for people you do not know and never have known… Be the change you want to see in the world.”

Semih Yalman began his presentation by declaring “Rules are made to be broken! This is part of evolution!” He emphasized that individuals should love themselves and strive to find happiness, that dreams are more important than knowledge. He added “Do not watch – get involved!”
