The Young KAGIDER Days press launch, with contributions from JP Morgan, was held on February 15th at the Avantgarde Hotel. In KAGIDER Vice President Selma Akdoğan’s opening speech, she emphasized the importance of women’s economic independence. Akdoğan explained that the Young KAGIDER Project aims to break the traditional gender patterns in Turkey, to encourage young women to be productive and take control over their economic status and contributions to society.
After showing the Young KAGIDER movie, Turkey JP Morgan’s Senior Country Officer, Emre Derman, said that the project coincides with the vision of the JP Morgan Chase Foundation. He explained that the Foundation supports projects that will have positive long-term effects within communities, adding that the Young KAGIDER project is a ground breaking initiative.
Following a speech by Young KAGIDER Advisory Board Member Recep Doğan, the meeting closed with a question and answer session.
