KAGIDER’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Şila Gök made the opening speech and emphasized the importance of the presence of women in local management positions.

Ahmet Misbah Demircan, serving the neighborhood where he was born and raised, stated that he would work hard to preserve Beyoğlu’s historical landmarks. He feels that action is needed because people do not respect Beyoğlu’s important historical buildings as much as they respect the palaces.

Demircan who has given leadership lessons for four years announced that according to him, being responsible is as important as strong leadership. He said that people who are patient, convincing, determined, good at building teams and motivating can be leaders, and added that our women are very likely to be leaders because they embody these characteristics.

Demircan who shared his experiences in urban regeneration, Beyoğlu’s restorations and city planning answered questions from KAGIDER members and business women after his speech.
