Our ‘Strengthening Women and the Arab Spring Workshop’ which has been in the works for the past year, took place on the 20^th of December. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), a partner of the project, also sponsored the project with the Fund for Democratization the Federal Republic of Germany. This foundation which sponsored one of the “I’m Learning My Rights” workshops also organized and hosted the Germany Study Trip in 2009. The workshop’s aim was to learn about the opportunities and threats of the democratizing acts, as well as the strengthening of women in Turkey. Valued experts, entrepreneurs and activists from the region and Turkey were our guests. Our member Selcan Yılmaz contributed to the economic segment of the meeting and gave a wonderful presentation. We received very positive feedback, and stated that we would continue to hold such workshops in the future.
