Hürriyet Gazetesi Chairman of the Board Vuslat Doğan Sabancı was the guest of KAGIDER’s traditional monthly breakfast meeting on the 24th of November.
KAGIDER President Gülden Türktan in her opening speech stated that in order to increase women’s participation in economics it would be essential to promote gender equality in the private sector. Türktan mentioned that alliances formed in this area will lead us to success and that without gender equality in every extent of life we cannot talk about a sophisticated Turkish society.
Vuslat Doğan Sabancı who shared a scene from the movie ‘One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ began her speech by stating that there will not be anything left for us to fight for unless we say ‘at least I tried’. Vuslat Doğan Sabancı who stated that women issues require courage also said that stability, sustainability and supporting an idea for a long time are very essential. She shared information and invited all of the participants to the November 25th ‘Half of the Sky’ conference, which is also the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Doğan Sabancı who answered questions from women entrepreneurs added that to solve women’s issues the presence of NGOs such as the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey is essential.
