BEZİRCİOĞLU: WE MUST CONTINUE TO WORK WITHOUT LOSING HOPE
The opening speech of the meeting, attended by KAGİDER members, was delivered by KAGİDER's Board Chair, Esra Bezircioğlu.
Bezircioğlu expressed deep concern over recent issues in Turkey, including femicides, child murders, baby trafficking, and terrorism, describing these as inhumane crimes. She stated, “Our hearts ache. These tragedies wound our collective conscience, and once again, they highlight the critical importance of justice and human rights.” Despite these challenges, Bezircioğlu emphasized that they must never lose hope, saying, “We must continue working tirelessly. Because we draw our strength from each other, our solidarity, and our hope for the future of this country.”
BEKİR AĞIRDIR: TURKEY IS APPROACHING A LEAP FORWARD
Researcher and author Bekir Ağırdır addressed current events in Turkey and highlighted the need for a new model in every field, from business to politics. He analyzed societal tensions, from emotional states to system modeling, using the metaphor of the earthquake. Ağırdır provided examples from research he initiated in 2008.
He shared the current findings of his study on “The Mental Attitudes and Behaviors of Turkish People,” pointing out that many changes have occurred since that time, particularly with the increase in urban population. Ağırdır discussed the “stages of grief and mourning,” referring to the five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. He stated, “Currently, Turkish society is in the depression stage. In fact, this is the opportunity phase. They are ready to hear, see, and act on the new model planning.”
Believing that there is now an opportunity gap in societal life and business, Ağırdır concluded, “I believe the world and Turkey are approaching a leap forward.”
At the meeting, Bekir Ağırdır also answered questions from KAGİDER members. KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu thanked him for his participation and presented him with a plaque.
