Attended the Conference on Gender Equality in the Euro-Mediterranean Region

The “Women Rights in the Europe-Mediterranean Area” conference took place in Istanbul Aydın University Conference Salon on the 18th of November. It was intended to bring women issues to the attention of the public and to create solutions. The conference was hosted by COPPEM Representation for Turkey. The Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Şahin, COPPEM Gender Equality Vice President and Şanlıurfa Deputy Dr. Zeynep Karahanuslu, KAGIDER Member of the Board Aydın Baktır made speeches in order to present KAGIDER’s Opportunity Equality Model.

COPPEM who encourages democracy, human rights, rule of law, economic integration between countries in the region and education between local governments supporting economic, social and political collaboration, protecting the rights and responsibilities of local establishments and non-governmental organizations and encouraging that the Barcelona Declaration’s requirements are fulfilled. This is one of the most respected companies in the Europe-Mediterranean region.

COPPEM which is run by the President of the Sicily region, Raffaele Lombardo, has 219 members including parliamentarians, ministers, local government members and communes from 43 countries. With a quota of 6, Turkey is one of the countries with the largest number of seats.
