The 2024 W20 Summit commenced in Brazil, bringing together influential leaders and delegates. Representing Turkey, W20 Turkey Delegation Chair, KAGİDER Honorary Board Member, and 2011-2015 KAGİDER President Gülden Türktan, along with W20 Turkey Delegation Co-Chair and KAGİDER Secretary General Yeşim Seviğ, participated in the summit.

This year, Turkey’s delegation, chaired by KAGİDER, included KADEM representatives Nursem Keskin Aksay and Nurbanu Küçük, as well as TİKAD representative Nazlı Ceylan Balduk Kurtul, who traveled to Rio de Janeiro for the event.

Discussions at the W20 Brazil summit revolved around five key thematic areas:

• Care Economy
• Combating Gender-Based Violence
• Climate Justice
• Women Entrepreneurs: Access to Capital, Finance, and Markets
• Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)

The W20 Declaration, prepared and approved by the W20 delegates, was presented to Brazilian Minister of Women Cida Gonçalves, Minister of Racial Equality Anielle Franco, and Brazilian G20 Sous-Sherpa Ambassador Felipe Hees.
