‘Zero tolerance for violence at work!’

The Women's Leadership Platform, which was established in cooperation with the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER), TurkishWIN, UPS and in which the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is a stakeholder, held a roundtable meeting in Istanbul in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO). In the meeting titled “Zero Tolerance to Violence at Work”, efforts to end violence in business life, solutions and best practices were discussed. Source

EU-TurkeyHigh-Level Business Dialogue Meeting was Held in Istanbul

The fourth Meeting of “EU-Türkiye High Level Business Dialogue”, organized in the scope of the “Türkiye-EU Business Dialogue” Project implemented jointly by the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambers) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), was held in Istanbul on 26 October 2022 and KAGIDER participated the meeting together zith other stakeholders.Source

With the cooperation of KAGIDER and TÜRKONFED, young people came together to design a sustainable future.

A sustainability-themed workshop was organized with the participation of young people aged 30 and under, in cooperation with the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER) and the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED). Young people gathered at Facebook Station within the scope of "Young TÜRKONFED Entrepreneurship Meetings" and exchanged ideas for a sustainable future.Source

KAGIDER and Garanti BBVA Collaboration for the “Women of Commerce Platform”.Supporting women entrepreneurs who strengthen the economy in order to look at the future, Garanti BBVA has made an important contribution to women entrepreneurs by collaborating for the Women of Commerce Platform, which was launched under the leadership of KAGIDER (Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey). The purpose and opportunities of the Women of Commerce Platform, which gathers women entrepreneurs and their associations in Turkey under one roof, were shared on June 8.Source

25 Women Entrepreneurs From Europe And Central Asia Met With Potential Investors In Istanbul

25 women entrepreneurs from 9 countries in Europe and Central Asia attended an intensive training camp in Istanbul to increase their capacity to attract investors to their ventures. The training camp, organized with the cooperation of KAGIDER and UN Women and with the financial support of Mary Kay, came to an end with the "Investor Presentation Final" program.Source

KAGIDER, Denizli Bozkurt And Merkezefendi Municipalities Cooperation For Women Entrepreneurs

In Denizli, women entrepreneurs will reach new markets with "Women of Commerce". KAGIDER joined forces with Bozkurt and Merkezefendi Municipalities in Denizli to support women entrepreneurs. With the cooperation aimed at strengthening the "Women of Trade" online platform, it is aimed to ensure that women entrepreneurs operating in these two districts in Denizli are accessible for the purchase of goods and services by the public and private sectors.Source

Women in the European Union still continue to earn less than men for equal job, with the average gender pay gap in the EU standing at 13%. This means that for every €1 a man earns, a women will make €0.87. Progress is steady, however still too slow, with a 2.8 percentage point gap reduction in 10 years.Source

The Commission is proposing new EU-wide rules on packaging, to tackle this constantly growing source of waste and of consumer frustration. On average, each European generates almost 180 kg of packaging waste per year. Packaging is one of the main users of virgin materials as 40% of plastics and 50% of paper used in the EU is destined for packaging.Source

New rights to improve work-life balance in the EU enter into application.

All Member States must apply EU-wide rules to improve work-life balance for parents and carers adopted in 2019. These rules set out minimum standards for paternity, parental and carers' leave and establish additional rights, such as the right to request flexible working arrangements, which will help people develop their careers and family life without having to sacrifice either. The proposed Directive will criminalise rape based on lack of consent, female genital mutilation and cyber violence, which includes: non-consensual sharing of intimate images; cyber stalking; cyber harassment; and cyber incitement to violence or hatred.Source
