Led by KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu, the KAGİDER delegation paid a visit to the Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Şimşek. During the meeting, they presented policy recommendations to support women entrepreneurs, shared the outcomes of consultation meetings held with women’s associations on increasing the share of women-owned businesses in public procurement, and submitted the W20 Brazil Communiqué of the G20’s Women20 (W20) engagement group, for which KAGİDER holds the national delegation presidency.

KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu participated as a speaker at the “Compassion at Work – Tolerance in Business Life” event organized in Konya, hosted by Konya Businesswomen’s Association (KİKAD), founded by KAGİDER member Saime Yardımcı. She shared her views on the importance of tolerance in the business world. A highly attended member meeting was also held in Konya under the organization of the Committee for Relations with Members and Women Entrepreneurs' Associations.

KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu took part as a speaker in the celebration of the first term and the launch of the new term of the mentorship program carried out by TurkishWin in cooperation with Akbank. She emphasized that mentorship helps prevent the loss of entrepreneurial capital and motivation. She noted that mentorship is one of KAGİDER’s strongest competencies.

In the “KAGİDER Speaks” podcast series published on Spotify, KAGİDER Board Member responsible for Technology and Digitalization, Ahu Bade Özkan, discussed the effects of digitalization on the brain with Dr. Kerem Dündar, founder of the London School of Mind.

KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu participated as a speaker on the Sustainability Stage at the PERYÖN Summit. She highlighted the role of collaboration and women entrepreneurs in sustainable development and emphasized the importance of partnership in strengthening society under the theme “Stronger Together,” sharing her vision in this area.

During the 3rd Career Fair of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, KAGİDER members Nagihan Yılmaz, Bilge Can, and Sevin Ballıktaş shared their entrepreneurship stories in the “Women Entrepreneurs” session.

KAGİDER Vice President Güzin İlker and Board Members Dilara Koçak, Senur Akın Biçer, and Özlem Demirci Duyarlar represented KAGİDER at the signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Family and Social Services and Hepsiburada to support women entrepreneurs.

Under the “Orange Support for Women Entrepreneurs” project jointly carried out by KAGİDER and ING Turkey in Kahramanmaraş, training sessions continued. Women entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs attended the “Market Access” training conducted by KAGİDER Board Member Beyza Beyzade Berkol at the ING Turkey Kahramanmaraş Orange Office.

The “G3 Forum Entrepreneurship Summit,” coordinated by TOBB, GEN Türkiye, and Habitat Association, was held in Izmir. At the Open House mentoring sessions, KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu, Secretary General Yeşim Seviğ, and Honorary Board Member and GEN Türkiye Vice President Emine Erdem participated as table mentors.

At the first-ever “KAGİDER Authors Workshop” organized by the Members and Relations with Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations Committee, we came together around a passion for literature and witnessed the inspiring stories of our member authors. The event was moderated by KAGİDER member Ferah Türel, and we had the opportunity to hear the valuable insights of KAGİDER members and authors Aslı Karataş, Banu Koç Çakan, Efsun Tekyeten, Yasemin Mıstıkoğlu, and Zuhal Mansfield. We thank our participating members and esteemed authors.

KAGİDER members Aygül Güler and Mutlu Alkan participated as speakers in the talk “Making a Difference with Women” organized by the Entrepreneurship Club of Istanbul University Faculty of Law.

As KAGİDER, under the coordination of the Committee on Private Sector Relations, we organized a gathering with institutions certified under the Equal Opportunity Model (FEM) and our corporate members. At the meeting, moderated by KAGİDER Board Members Neşecan Çekici and Özlem Demirci Duyarlar, we brought together managers from institutions that have obtained or are involved in the certification process. We discussed the impact of KAGİDER's Equal Opportunity Model Certificate on institutions and shared KAGİDER's Sustainability Report.

KAGİDER EU Representative and Senior Advisor on European Policy Ayşe Yürekli attended the “Meeting with Representatives of the Turkish Business World” organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Belgium, honored by the presence of the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Mr. Ersin Tatar. She drew attention to the ongoing synergy and positive cooperation with women entrepreneurs from TRNC.

The “Tech Talks: My Dream for the Future” series, organized in cooperation with KAGİDER and Ford Otosan, continued in November with inspiring and empowering talks for women in the field of technology. In the session titled “Why is Technology the New Superpower of Women?”, discussions centered on how women can make a difference in their careers, entrepreneurial dreams, and financial independence by using technology effectively. The panel, moderated by KAGİDER member Ufuk Tarhan, hosted inspiring examples and concrete suggestions from expert panelists including Dr. Hale Cide Demir, İnci Abay Cansabuncu, Didem Duru, and Hayriye Karadeniz.

The “Women at Work Summit,” supported by KAGİDER, was organized in Girne (Kyrenia) by the Turkish Cypriot Women Entrepreneurs Association (GİKAD) as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the importance of national and international cooperation for realizing the potential of women entrepreneurs. On the second day of the summit, KAGİDER Board Member Beyza Beyzade Berkol presented the “KAGİDER Sustainability Report” as a model example.

At the “Sustainable Value Summit,” where KAGİDER Board Member Kıvılcım Kocabıyık participated as a speaker, she presented the “Future Women Leaders” project and the impact it has created.

KAGİDER Board Member Selen Erdeniz Kahraman participated as a speaker in the talk “In Pursuit of Light” organized by the Brainpool Club of Nişantaşı University.

KAGİDER Secretary General Yeşim Seviğ participated in the NGO roundtable meeting held in Ankara with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where KAGİDER is a member of the Civil Society Steering Committee. As KAGİDER, we shared our views and proposals regarding both the EBRD’s Turkey country strategy plans and its gender equality strategy and action plans.

The guest of KAGİDER’s Traditional Breakfast Meeting for November was author Evrim Kuran. She met with women entrepreneurs and spoke on self-compassion and the phenomenon of impostor syndrome. Right after, KAGİDER Economic Advisor Özlem Derici Şengül shared the most recent developments from the Turkish and global economy.

As KAGİDER, we are the Turkish stakeholder of the GFEB project, which aims to promote green transformation by women entrepreneurs in the Balkans. As part of this project, we organized a “Best Practices Webinar” with the participation of trainers and experts working in this field from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Greece, and Turkey.

November 25–26, 2024

Coordinated by the KAGİDER Education and Mentoring Committee, the final stop of the “Sana İlham Academy” project, organized in cooperation with KAGİDER and SANA, was İzmir. The event, where KAGİDER Board Members Gülin Yücel and Manolya Tanla from the committee and KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu delivered opening speeches, was attended by KAGİDER members from İzmir. As KAGİDER, we know that every step we take to reveal women's potential and support their participation in the economy shapes the future for all of us. To learn, share, and grow together—to open the door to a brand-new beginning—we met with over 500 women entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in Gaziantep, Kayseri, Samsun, Hatay, and İzmir. The “Sana İlham Academy” project became an inspiring journey for each participant. This journey will never end; because we will continue to inspire and support one another!

KAGİDER EU Representative and Senior Advisor on European Policy Ayşe Yürekli attended the European Parliament approval vote for the new European Commission for 2024–2029 and the 81st Meeting of the EU–Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee. Held in Strasbourg, the meetings addressed bilateral relations and the current state of accession negotiations, as well as issues related to the customs union, visa liberalization, the migration crisis, rule of law, and freedom of expression.

KAGİDER President Esra Bezircioğlu participated as a speaker in the “Competition, Technology, and Sustainability” panel of the 16th Competitiveness Congress organized by SEDEFED. She emphasized the importance of access to finance for women entrepreneurs, alongside technological transformation and sustainability in competition.

At the 2nd Social Benefit Awards organized by DÜNYA Newspaper, which evaluates social projects of the private sector, public institutions, and local governments, KAGİDER Vice President Güzin İlker presented two separate awards. In total, awards were given in 7 main categories and 40 subcategories. The “Good Jobs” project, carried out jointly by KAGİDER and Boyner Group for the past 10 years, received the award in the “Sustainable Cooperation” category.

KAGİDER Board Member Selen Erdeniz Kahraman participated in the “Equal Work = Inclusive Development” panel organized as part of the Sustainable Living Festival. She shared KAGİDER’s views on the importance of women’s employment for inclusive development and gave an inspiring talk about the “Future Women Leaders” program and its impacts.
